Pumose. To ea!ahlit a Quality Assurance program for industrial Radiography as required in title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, part 71.

Organization,

a. The finalresportdhility for the Quality Assurance (Q A) program for part 71 (R

requirements rests with SIM A Norfolk. Design and fabrication shall not be conducted under this QA Program. The Q A program is implemented using the following organization.

Quality Assurance Program. The enhli% ment and implementa. tion of this Q A program is the responsdhility of the Radiographic Safety Officer. Training, prior to engagement, for all Q A functions is required in accordance with written procedures established in reference (a) and 0 A program revisions willbe nade in accordance with written procedures approved by the Q A Officer. Document Control. Alldocuments related to a specific shipping package willbe controlled (R

through the use of written procedures. Alldocument changes willbe performed according to written procedures approved by the Radiographic Safety Officer. The Radiographic Safety Officer shallinsure that all Q A functions are conducted in accordance with the latest amlbahla changes to these documents.

Handling, Storage, and Shipping. Written safety procedures concerning the handling, (R

storage, and shipping of packages for certain specialform radioactive material willbe in accordance with reference (a). Shipments willnot be made unless alltests, certifications, (D

acceptancos, and finalinspecdons have been completed. Work instructions willbe provided for handling, storage, and shipping operations. Radiography pemonnelsballperform the critical handling, storage, and shipping operations.

Inspection, Test and Operating Staus Inspection, test and operating status of packages (a

Quality Asairance Records. Recordsof package approvals (irv-lwling references and (R

drawings), procurement, inspections, test, operating logs, audit ram 1Hi, personnel training and qualifications and records of shipments willbe maintained by the Senior Radiographer.

Audits. Scheduled audits willbe performed annually, during the month of July, using (R

written check lists and the results reported to the Com manding Officer. Audit reports will be evaluated and deficient areas corrected. The audits willbe dependent on the safety significance and held atleast once a year. Audit reports willbe maintained as part of the Q A records Members of the audit team willbe from a work center other than Non Destructive Testing.
