UPDATE OF GENERIC ISSUE MANAGEMENT C TROL SYSTEM - IST QUARTER FY-97 The Generic Issue Management Control System (GIprS) is being updated for the 1st Quarter of FY-97.
Please make any necessary corrections or additions to your GIMCS 4th Quarter FY-96 report to reflect the current status of resolution of the generic issues and/or generic activities for which your division has the lead responsibility.
The inclusion of generic activities is in conformance with SRM951219A which requested the staff to have "one agency-wide generic issue resolution tracking system." All data provided should be clear and concise since they will be reported as presented.
)
The GIMCS summary information identifies specific generic issues that have a significant actual or potential schedule slippage or delay.
For these generic issues in particular, the Problem / Resolution section of the GIMCS data sheet should be used to identify the mause..' the slippage and the actions taken, or to be taken, to prevent pcLntial slippage or to reduce the effects of slippage.
Information provided should be accurate so that the current and future status of all unresolved generic issues can be assessed.
In addition, data collected 1
in GIMCS are being used for the Safety Issues Management System (SIMS) to track generic issues through licensee implementation, where applicable.
Complete information provided for GIMCS wil' simplify the task of incorporating the data into SIMS.
Assumptions used to develop milestones and comments on the sources of uncertainty in the schedules should be noted in the
(
updates.
