Dear Mr. Steptoe:
This is in response to your letter of June 5,1985, in which you requested, pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), copies of any documents provided to Messrs. Herrmann and Gilbert of the Illinois Governor's Office of Consumers Service pursuant to their FOIA request 85-301.
. In response to the latter request, we are infonning Messrs. Herrmann and Gilbert that the 34 documents listed in the enclosed Appendix A to FOIA-85-301 are being placed in the.NRC Public Document Room (PDR), 1717 H Street, NW, Washington, DC 20555, where they will be available for inspection.and copying.

We are also enclosing a copy of a notice that explains charges and procedures for obtaining copies of records from the PDR.
The search for and review of documents subject to their request and yours are continuing. We will notify them and you when additional documents are available.
In your letter, you also asked to be informed of any other F0IA requests made to NRC by Messrs. Herrmann or Gilbert or the Goverrror's Office. However, an FOIA request applies only to records in the possession of the agency on the date the request is received. Since this portion of your request pertains to records that may be received at some future date, the FOIA is not applicable.
'However, the PDR has a computerized accession list-of responses to FOIA re-quests, and you may wish to call the PDR periodically to determine if any new FOIA's have been placed in the PDR under those names. Alternatively, you could.
subscribe to the Weekly Information Report of the NRC, which is available for
$100 a-year through the U.S. Government Printing Office, Washington, DC 20402 (Phone: (202) 275-2060). This report includes a listing of all FOIA requests received each week, identified by name and subject matter.
