This is-in response to your letter dated August 27, 1985, requesting approval of your Quality Control Progran for the Sienens Cobalt source shipping container Type S1747.

Please note that NRC licensees who conduct activities under the General l
Licenses of Subpart C of 10 CFR Part 71 are required to have a quality assurance progran approved by the Comisison. The infornation (quality control) provided with your letter is not the type of information we recuire. He need a description /comitnent of your quality assurance progran that applies to the activities conducted pursuant to 10 CFR Part 71.
Enclosed is a copy of Regulatory Guide 7.10 and sample QA Progran which should be helpful in preparing your application.
Unless an exenption is provided by 10 CFR 9170.11, an application fee of
$150, as required by 10 CFR $170.31, should be included with your application for QA approval. If further assistance is needed, please contact Len Gordon i
