Indian Point Unit No. 2 Docket Nc. 50-247 Mr. James M. Taylor, Director Office of Inspection and Enforcement c/o Distribution Services Branch, DDC, ADM U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, D. C. 20555

Dear Mr. Taylor:

As a result or our review of the March 1985 edition of !UREG-0020

" Licensed Operating Reactors Status Summary Report",

certain discrepancies were observed in the operating data reported for Indian Point Unit 2.

Specifically, the cumulative Net Energy Generated (Item No.18) and cumulative Unit Capacity Factors (Item No 's 22 and 23) were in error. Our review of this ma'.ter has uncovered the major contributor to these discrepancies.

The Net Electrical Energy for Indian Point for the month of April 1984 was incorrectly reported in that edition of NUREG-0020 (Attachment A) as 849 Mwh.

The correct value, as reported in our submittal of the April 1984 Monthly Operating Report (Attachment A),

is 600941 Mwh.

As a result of this error, all editions of NUREG-0020 issued since April 1984 have incorrect cumulative data for the items mentioned above.

I In addition, Section 3 of tMREG-0020 " Status of Spent Fuel Storage Capability" ( Attachment A) should be updated to indicate the following data for Indian Point 2.

1 1.

Present Auth. Storage Pool Cap. (Fuel Assemblies) - 980 2.

No. of Assemblies Stored

- 396 3.

Remaining Capacity (No. of Assemblies)

- 584 1

4.
