Dear Mr. Kuehn:

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission is planning to hold a public meeting on the Post-Shutdown Decommissioning Activities Report (PSDAR) for the Saxton Nuclear Experimental Corporation (SNEC) Facility (SNEF) in the Saxton Fire Hall located at 8th and North Street, Saxton, Pennsylvania 16678 on January 28, 1997, at 7:00 p.m. Please find enclosed a copy of the notice that appeared in the FEDERAL REGISTER on December 19, 1996 (61 FR 67078).

1 The public meeting is required by 10 CFR'50.82(a)(4)(ii), as amended. The i meeting is infornational and will include a presentation by the NRC staff on l the decommissioning regulatory process. Thank you for agreeing to give a presentation on your planned decommissioning activities. Please plan a i maximum of 30 minutes for your presentation. The presentation should be aimed I to inform members of the public. A question and, answer period will follow the l presentations.
