The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (the NRC) hereby certifies as follows:

(a) that it has examined Exhibit A attached hereto which is entitled " General Description of the Facilities"~and which describes certain facili-ties which have been constructed, are under con-struction or are to be constructed at the Unit 3 (Nuclear) Waterford Steam Electric Generating Station, a nuclear electric power generating plant located in St. Charles Parish at Taft, Louiniana, which plant is owned by Louisiana Power & Light Company; and (b ) that such facilities, as designed, are in furtherance of the purpose of abating or con-trolling atmosphere pollutants or contaminants or water pollutants resulting from the generation of electricity at the Unit 3 (Nuciaar) Waterford Steam. of three subsystems: the low level liquid vasta subsystem, the baron management subsystem and the laundry waste management. system .which are described below.

The major equipment in the Compactor Building consists of the granulator (shredding eachfue), compactor, sorting cabinets, a forklift, platform scale and air filtration equipment.

Not b ehine_ Shop / Decontamination Sta_ti_on:

The Hot hchina 5 hop / Decontamination Station provides facilities to decontaminate and repair tools and system components which have become radioactively contaminated wbfla in use in the Plant. Equipment located in the Hot k ehine Shop includes lathes, a drill press, milling machines, a valve lapping machine, grinders, a radial drill and a power saw. The Decontamination Station is equipped with an ultrasonic cleaning assembly, a spray booth and associated apparatus, rinse tanks, a work bench, fume hoods, a radiation monitor, and monorails for I looving heavy equipment.

Hot Laundry:

The Hot Laundry, located in the Reactor Auxiliary Building, provides onsite facilitfe's'to launder contaminated protective clothing prior to reuse. There are two washing nachines and three dryers. The laundry room drains are plumbed into the Liquid Indtoactive Waste Treatment System for treatment prior to discharge to the environment.
