Dear Mr. McSwiggin:

This letter concerns the use of alternative biocides at the subject facility and serves as a follow-up to all previous correspondence.

Pursuant to Special Condition #5 of the above permit, enamanwealth Edison company wishes to inform you that Quad Cities Station has begun a pilot study using "Acti-Brom", a bromine oxidizing agent in conjunction with chlorine.

It should he noted that this is a pilot study, not a permanent system. Total residual oxidant concentration as measured by amperometric titration shall be monitored at least once a week. A summary report will be submitted following the conclusion of the pilot study.
