PA0025615
Dear Sir:
As required by EPA Permit No. 0025615, the following information is provided in regards to an abnormal occurrence at Beaver Valley Pow-er Station, Unit II.
Discharge 113, Sewage Treatment Plant, was out of specification in Fecal Coliform Bacteria Count (TNTC-Too Numerous to Count) on a sample taken on Jun'e 4, 1985 and read on June 5, 1985.
The above out of specification discharge was caused by a very low chlorine residual in the effluent steam (< 0.5 milligrams / liter) due to a low chlorine pellet level. Pellets were added and residual re-turned to normal concentrations. Personnel have been reinstructed to check chlorine pellet holders once/ day to ensure that they are suffi-ciently filled.
