ACTIVITIES (EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY)
This is to inform the Commission that a Confirmatory Order Prohibiting Involvement in NRC-Licensed Activities (Effective Immediately) will be issued j
December 12. 1996 to John Maas.
The action was based on an inspection and a i
alea of guilty in U.S. District Court, on the which the staff concluded that j
ir. Maas deliberately violated the Deliberate Misconduct rule (10 CFR 30.10) while serving as President of National Circuits Caribe. Inc. by abandoning i
devices containing byproduct material at the licensee's facility in Puerto 1
Rico. The Order prohibits Mr. Maas from engaging in NRC-licensed activities l
for a period of five years.
In addition for the succeeding five years, he is to provide notice to the NRC the first time following the prohibition that he i
engages in NRC-licensed activities. Mr. Maas agreed to this action.
