An NRC inspection was conducted December 913,1996, at your Cooper Nuclear Station

reactor f acility. The enclosed report presents the scope and results of that inspection.

The inspection reviewed portions of the radiation protection program. Included were
l.
reviews of the audits and appraisals, radiation protection organization and staffing, training
l
and qualifications, exposure controls, and the program to maintain occupational exposures
.
'
as low as is reasonably achievable.
!
Overall, th,se portions of the radiation protection program were implemented properly.
l
Excellent results were observed in maintaining personnel exposure low.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter

and its enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room (PDR).
