Dear Dr. fluller:

I have been informed by Lancaster, PA Mayor Arthur Morris, Chairman of the Advisory Panel for the Decontamination of Three flile Island, that you have agreed to present the results of the Three f1ile Island cancer mortality and morbidity studies conducted by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania at the next Advisory Panel Meeting. The Advisory Panel, formed in November 1980, is composed to twelve members from a variety of backgrounds. A list of members and their affiliation is enclosed (Enclosure 1). The Advisory Panel provides advice to the Commission on major activities required to decontaminate and safely clean-up the THI-2 facility. Additionally, they act as a conduit to the Commission for issues brought to their attention by the public. Recently the Commission recommended that the Charter of the Advisory Panel be revised to allow the Panel to consult with and provide advice to the Commission on issues related to potential studies to health effects associated with the TMI-2 accident.

The Advisory Panel Meeting will be held on October 16, 1985, from 7:00 PM to approximately 10:00 PM at the Lancaster Council Chambers, Public Safety Building, 201 N. Duke Street, Lancaster, PA 17603. A map to the Lancaster Council Chambers is enclosed (Enclosure 2).

Also enclosed (Enclosure 3) is a tentative agenda for the meeting. As you can see from the agenda the Panel has allotted two hours for your presentation and subsequent discussions. The Panel expects considerable interest in this topic and anticipates many questions from the public. It is recommended that your presentation of the results of the study be limited to no more than 40 minutes leaving the balance of the time for questions by the Panel and the public. Since some of the questions asked, particularly by the members of the Panel, may be of a detailed technical nature it is recommended that your technical experts accompany you to the meeting. Please have a member of your staff or yourself contact me during the early part of the week of the 13th of October if you require any audiovisual equipment for your presentation.
