APPENDIX A NOTICE OF VIOLATION Camden County Municipal Utilities Authority Docket No. 9990001 Camden, New Jersey 08101 General License As a result of the inspection conducted on June 26, 1985, and in accordance with the NRC Enforcement Policy (10 CFR 2, Appendix C), the following violations were identified:
10 CFR 31.5(c)(2) requires that any device possessed pursuant to 10 CFR 31.5(a) be tested for leakage of radioactive material at no longer than three year intervals.
Contrary to the above, as of June 26, 1985, sealed sources containing 500 millicuries each of cesium-137 had not been tested for leakage since April 1982, an interval of more than three years.
This is a Severity Level IV violation (Supplement VI).
Pursuant to the provisions of 10 CFR 2.201, Camden County Municipal Utilities Authority is hereby required to submit to this office within thirty days of the date of the letter which transmitted this Notice, a written statement or explanation in reply, including: (1) the corrective steps which have been taken .
and the results achieved; (2) corrective steps which will be taken to avoid further violations; and (3) the date when full compliance will be achieved.
