TOPICAL REPORT - ASEA-ATOM CONTROL BLADES FOR U.S. BWRs Enclosed you will find nineteen (19) copies of the subject report, which is submitted for docketing and review. Also the application fee of USD 150.- has been attached.

We respectfully request that the subject report be reviewed by the NRC in terms of generic approval of the general use of the types of ASEA-ATOM control blades specified herein in Bolling Water Reactors in the U.S. The subject report has been prepared as an update of the report that was submitted to the NRC in connection with the licensing of the use of eight control blades in Dresden-3, AA Report TR BR 82-98 rev.1.

There is urgency connected with the review of this topical report in that the licensing of reload no 9 for Quad Cities unit 1, as well as the Millstone unit I reload, depends on its approval.
