On October 2,1996, the NRC completed an inspection at the ITT Industries i facility in Roanoke, Virginia. The enclosed report presents the results of i
that inspection, which were discussed with you on October 2 following the inspection.
I During the inspection, records were reviewed and procedures were discussed
] with personnel related to the loss of a generally licensed static elimination device. The NRC notes that ITT promptly reported this loss to the NRC, 3 aggressively searched for the missing static elimination device, and i implemented corrective actions to prevent the future recurrence of this violation. In view of these considerations, the NRC has decided that this
- licensee-identified and corrected violation meets the criteria for being characterized as a Non-cited Violation, as described in Section VII.B.1 of the
. " General Statement of Policy and Procedures for NRC Enforcement Actions,"
l (EnforcementPolicy),NUREG-1600.
