L. Mittl, PSE&G) dated Augusc 28, 1985 concerning information relating to the deadline for compliance with 10CFR50.49 " Environmental Qualification of Electrical Equipment Important to. Safety for Nuclear Power Plants" (NRC Generic Letter 85-15); Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) has confirmed that based on the current status of the Hope Creek Generating Station (HCGS) environmental qualification program for electrical equipment all components will be fully qualified prior to fuel load.

Accordingly, no extensions to the deadline for compliance with 10CFR50.49 are required for HCGS at this time.

There are currently thirty (30) electrical components undergoing qualification testing, and final qualification reports for those items are scheduled to be issued through late November 1985.

If it becomes evident that any of these items will not be fully qualified prior to fuel load, due to unforeseen test deviations, PSE&G retains the right to file for extension of the deadline for compliance with 10CFR50.49 at that time.
