At this time, however, for Part 34 licensees, we are not issuing Certificates of j Approval for renewal of OA Programs as in the past because the applicable regulations are going to change in the near future. Specifically.10 CFR Part l 34. " Licenses for Radiography and Radiation Safety Requirements for Radiographic Operations." has been revised and will be effective in early 1997. ihe revised '
10 CFR Part 34 will include the requirements for QA activities such as I procurement, use, maintenance, and repair of Type B packages (i.e., radiogra)hy Cdmeras or overpaCks) designed to transport sealed sources used for radiograply.
The need to apply separately for an NRC OA program approval will no longer be required after the revised 10 CFR Part 34 has been implemented.
