COMPLIANCE PLAN ACTION ITEM CLOSURE The purpose of this letter is to provide you with the results of our Compliance Plan Action Item Closure effort for the months of October and i
November.
In summary, we reviewed 35 Portsmouth actions, have closed 28, and have not closed seven. At Paducah, we have reviewed 52 actions, have closed 49, and have not closed three. The specific actions reviewed and their status are included on Enclosures 1 and 2 for Portsmouth and Enclosures 3 and 4 for i
Paducah. We have currently updated the Compliance Plan action item database to reflect the above status and to include the " closure basis" for each action. The closure basis summarizes the information we reviewed and our basis for determining the current status.
We plan to continue the closure effort at each of the plants and have informed plant management of our January 1997 schedule. As you know, a significant number of actions are scheduled to be completed during December. Our plan for the remainder of 1996, is to review the actions completed through November.
We will then concentrate on the December actions in the beginning of 1997.
l The enclosed listed action items are now considered in compliance with 10CFR Part 76 requirements. As such, the Department of Energy also considers these items closed activities related to Compliance Plan costs.
