Dear Dr. Murley:

In response to the recent letter from Mr. T.T. Martin (NRC) to Mr. J.D. Leonard (LILCO), dated July 31, 1985, transmitting clarifications and understandings of SNRC-1186 and Inspection Report 85-04, we find the clarifications and understandings to be consistent with the discussions between our respective staffs.

Additionally we would like to submit the following Table I (Enclosure 1) which provides a status of Inspection Report 85-04 inspection items. LILCO's scheduled completion date for several of these items have not been met due to recent SNPS Startup Test Program activity. The'" Status" column of Table I denotes our best estimate of a recovery completion date.
