Mr. Richard W. Starostecki, Director D'OCsfTINGTSEkVlu-Division of Reactor Projects BRANCH U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Regien I 631 Park Avenue King of Prussia, PA 19406
Dear Mr. Starostecki:
This letter provides information related to the incorporation of environmental qualification requirements into the Limerick Preventive Maintenance Program as discussed in NRC Region I Inspection Report 50-352/85-03 (OAT), Item 9.
This information was requested by Mr. Robert M. Gallo of your staff during a telephone conversation with Mr. John Franz, Limerick Generating Station Supcrintendent - Operations, on June 17, 1985.
The Engineering and Research Department has provided environmental qualificat '.on reports identifying those mechanical and electrical maintenance requirements which need to be addressed by the preventative naintenance program including such things as valve seat ring and stem packing replacement, valve diaphragm replacement, checking of electrical connections, and replacement of solenoid valves.
These requirements are currently being inputted into the Computerized History and Maintenance Planning System (CHAMPS) computer.
This system will automatically schedule the necessary work and provide tracking of the maintenance activities.
The inputting of these requirements will be completed prior to the first refueling outage.
Those requirements identified as having a frequency such that they should be performed before the first refueling outage will be entered into CHAMPS or manually tracked prior to their due date to assure that they will be completed.
