By letter dated February 19,1987, the NRC issued Generic Letter (GL) 87-02, " Verification of Seismic Adequacy of Mechanical and Electrical Equipment in Operating Reactors, Unresolved Safety issue (USI) A-46." On May 22,1992 the NRC issued GL 87-02 Supplement 1. Southern Nuclear Operating Company (SNC) replied to GL 87-02 by letters dated September 10,1992 and May 18,1995. The results of the SNC response were documented in the " Unresolved Safety issue A-46 Summary Report" submitted with the May 18,1995 letter. Outliers with regard to the Seismic Qualification Group (SQUG) Gene.ic Implementing Procedure (GIP) criteria were identified in the summary report. Resolution of outliers, other than relays, were committed to be completed by December 31,1995. Modifications or replacements necessary to resolve relay outliers were committed to be implemented by December 31,1996.
The purpose of this letter is to inform the NRC that necessary actions to resolve the out!!ers have been completed.
In a review performed to verify that all outliers had been resolved, SNC discovered that three of the raceway outliers had not been resolved by the committed December 31,1995 date. These outliers have now been resolved.
