Operating License No. DPR-73 Docket No. 50-320 TMI-2 Recovery Program Estimate Attached for your information is a copy of the TMI-2 Recovery Program Estimate, Revision 3, dated August 30, 1985.
This estimate concludes that the total program cost and schedule has not changed significantly from either Case I of the "TMI-2 Recovery Program Estimate, Revision 2", dated December 30, 1982 or the "TMI-2 Defueling Study", dated August 1984. Activities to defuel the reactor vessel and associated systems, to remove or immobilize radioactive materials, and to place the plant in a safe, interim, monitored storage condition will be completed in September 1988 at a total program cost (1979-1988) of
$965,000,000.
This estimate is based on a much more complete understanding of the work scope than was available in 1982 and gives further confidence in the program schedule and cost estimate.
