13 MR. CHILK:
The one paper, Mr. Chairman, is SECY 14 85-214.
It's a denial of a request for rulemaking to amend 10 1
15 CFR 7.9.
In this paper, the Commission was asked to act on a 16 Federal Register notice which responded to a petition filed by 17 Mr. Nance for rulemaking that proposed that the Commission i
18 amend its regulat-in s to allow appeals for the closing of ACES 19 meetings directly to the Commission.
20 You, Mr. Chairman, and Commissioners Bernthal,
[
21 Asselstine and Zech have approved the Federal Register which 22 denied that petition, 23 CHAIRMAN PALLADINO:
Could you read what you said?
j 24 You said "directly to the Commission"?

directly to the committee.
l 5

To the Commissioners, I'm sorry.

the rules be amended to allow appeal to come directly to the i
8 Commissioners as opposed to the present procedure that we now i
5 j
9 have of handling it with the Secretary and General Counsel.
10 And all of you have approved the Federal Register 11 notice that denied the petition.
Would you please affirm your j
