Dear Mr. Youngblood:

Reference:

(1)

Fermi 2 NRC Docket No. 50-341 NRC Operating License No. NPF-43 (2)

Detroit Edison Letter to NRC, " Additional Information Regarding Fermi 2 Leakage Reduction Program", NE-85-0391, dated June 3, 1985

Subject:

Leakage Reduction Test Results (T48-04)

Detroit Edison committed to provide advance copies of leakage test results and associated descriptions of preventive / corrective maintenance performed on systems enveloped by NUREC-0737 Item III.D.1.1, in Reference (2).

As reflected in Reference (2), these test results are to be submitted as they become available.

In accordance with this commitment, the leakage reduction program results for the Post-LOCA Thermal Rec omb in e r System are enclosed for l

your information.

The report ind ic a te s that corrective maintenance was performed to reduce'the leakage measured in the initial test to acceptable levels prior to the final test.

The maintenance performed was limited to routine measures such as the tightening of packing and tubing connections.

Future submittals of leakage test results will specifically delineate significant maintenance activities (e.g., component teardown, rework and/or i

replacement) should they be required to meet system leakage acceptance criteria.
