AEOD REPORTS ON ENGINEERED SAFETY FEATURE ACTUATIONS AND UNPLANNED REACTOR TRIPS Enclosed for your information are copies of two recently completed AE00 reports.
One report (AE0D/P503) is an analysis of engineered safety feature (ESF) actuations that occurred during the first six months of 1984 at commercial U.S. nuclear power plants. The second report (AEOD/P504) is an analysis of unplanned reactor trips (i.e., reactor scrams) that occurred in 1984 at commercial U.S. nuclear power plants.
These studies were performed as part of the AE00 trends and analysis program.
It is planned to continue such analysis in order to examine the degree of improvement from ongoing corrective action and to address items having potential safety concerns.
