(Shoreham Nuclear Power Station)

ORDER In ALAB-800, the Appeal Board decided that 10 C.F.R. Part 73 requires Long Is. land Lighting Company (LILCO) to treat its alternate AC system as vital equipment if LILC0 intended to rely on tha.t system for AC power during lo.i power testing. We decided on June 11, 1985 to affirm ALAB-800 insofar as it held that part of the system should be treated as vital. However, in light of the issuance of a license based on the adequacy of the main Shoreham AC system, we have decided to defer indefinitely the issuance of an opinion explaining our June 11 decision.

It is so ORDERED.
