Reference:

Vogtle Electric Generating Plant-Units 1 and 2; 50-424, 50-425; Electrical Raceway Hangers and Supports; Letter GN-616 dated May 17, 1985 and Letter GN-651 dated June 28, 1985 Attention: Mr. J. Nelson Grace On Aprf1 19, 1985. Mr. C. W. Hayes, Vogtle Project Quality Assurance Manager, informed Mr. M. Sinkule of the USNRC Region !!, of a potentially reportable condition involving Electrical Raceway Hangers and Supports.

In a subsequent letter to the NRC, dated June 28, 1985, Georgia Power Company stated the NRC would be informed of the results of this evaluation by September 6, 1985.

Georgia Power Company has received the results of the engineering evaluation of the design and rework control inconsistencies that were identified for the above referenced subject.

The evaluation, performed by Bechtel Power Corporation, det armined that none of the identified discrepancies, if they had gone und tected, would have adversely impacted the safe operation of the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant.

Based on these results, Georgia Power Company has concluded that this concern is not reportable pursuant to 10 CFR 50.55(e) or 10 CFR 21.

This response contains no proprietary information and may be placed in the NRC Public Docu'nent Room.
