1 Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation (WCNOC) hereby requests the withdrawal of the application for amendment to Facility Operating License No. NPF-42 for Wolf Creek Generating Station (WCGS) transmitted by the
! Reference. This license amendment request would have revised Surveillance Requirement 4.1.3.1.3 to allow the control rod drop surveillance test to be performed with Tavg below 551'F.
WCNOC has reevaluated the ' proposed Technical Specification Change and determined that the request should be withdrawn. This proposed change was submitted to the Westinghouse Owners Group (WOG) to be considered for approval j as a generic project. However, in their September, 1996, meeting, the WOG l General Session deferred action on the request.
