WASHINGTON STATE UNIVERSITY PULLMAN, WASHINGTON 991 % I300 NUCLEAR RADIATION CENTER May 30, 1985 ST/- 2. 7 Director, Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation U.S. Atomic Energy Commission Washington, D.C.

20555 Gentlemen:

In accordance with the requirements of Section 6.10(3)(c) of the Technical Specification for facility license R-76, we hereby inform the commission of the following change in the facility organization.

Mr. Davis R. Rosenberg, who was the Reactor Technician, resigned his position on the reactor operating staff effective May 17, 1985 to take a position at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.

Due to the fact that a hiring freeze had been placed upon all Washington State agencies by the Governor of the State, no replacement could be sought prior to Mr. Rosenberg's departure. The freeze has now been lifted, and we are seeking a qualified replacement for Mr. Rosenberg.

During the sumer of 1985, the only licensed individuals at the facility will be the Reactor Supervisor (SR0) Jerry Neidiger and myself (SRO).

The facility will only be operated about 3 days per week and no licensed individuals will be present, and the facility locked about one day a week.

In order to provide for vacation periods, the facility will be closed on two separate weeks during the summer. We would greatly appreciate that any inspections be coordinated with our protracted operating schedule.

Sincerely,

+v.wv4 W.E. Wilson Associate Director WEW:mb cc:
