Dear Mr. Smith:
This report transmits the findings of the initial operator examination conducted by NRC
examiners m the period of September 13 -20,1996, at the Peach Bottom Atomic Power
Station. At the conclusion of the examination, Mr. D. Florek discussed the examination

observations with Mr. T. Mitchell of your staff.

Based on the results of the examination, the applicants were well prepared for the
examination. Eleven of twelve applicants passed the examination and were subsequently
issued licenses. One SRO applicant did not pass the operating portion of the examination.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's Pules of Practice," a copy of this letter
and its enclosures will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
