LONG TERM PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM PERFORMANCE REVIEW MEETING This refers to the meeting conducted at the River Bend Station on September 18,1996.
Your staff discussed the status of the action items listed in the Long-Term Performance improvement Program. Also, your staff discussed that the inservice testing program and performance of individuals required heightened attention to improve performance. Your staff also discussed the challenges facing the operations department related to poor operator performance on the simulator. Further, your staff described actions taken to improve materiel condition and safety system availability, recent issues addressed by an aggressive, self-critical approach, and continued priority initiatives to improve personnel performance.
We note that this is the final update to the Long-Term Performance improvement Program and that future programs and processes requiring improvement will be incorporated into your strategic review process.
In accordance with Section 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter will be placed in the NRC's Public Document Room.
