Dear Mr. Berry:

This is in response to your letter dated April 13, 1985, in which you requested, pursuant to the Freedom of Infonnation Act (F0IA), copies of the following reports:

1. Disposal of Solid Radioactive Wastes in Bedded Salt Deposits, NAS-NRC, Nov. 1979.
2. The NRC Report on the Department of Energy's (D0E) Proposal for a Nuclear Waste Burial Site at Hanford, Washington.

Copies of the documents listed below are enclosed:

1. Undated listing of bedded salt reports maintained by the NRC's Waste Management Section (DOE or DOE contractor reports).
2. 3/20/85 NRC's letter to DOE with enclosed comments on DOE's Draft Environmental Assessment on the potential high-level waste repos-itory site in Hanford, Washington.

During an April 25, 1985, telephone conversation with Mr. Stephen Isaacs and Ms. Nancy Still of NRC, you agreed to research your references and send to us a more specific citation for iten one of your request, which could not be located by the NRC staff. If that citation is not received in this office by May 24, 1985, your request will be administratively closed.
