FINAL TECHNICAL EVALUATION REPORT FOR THE SLICK ROCK, COLORADO, URANIUM MILL TAILINGS SITE
Dear Mr. Sena:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff has completed its review of the final Remedial Action Plan and Site Design (RAP) and the Remedial Action 4
Inspection Plan (RAIP), Revision 0, Review D, for the inactive uranium mill 4
tallings sites at Slick Rock, Colorado. The staff's review is documented in the enclosed final Technical Evaluation Report (TER).
Based on this review, the NRC staff concurs in the Slick Rock RAP and RAIP.
The Department of Energy (D0E) has proposed deferral of groundwater cleanup at the Slick Rock processing sites until a second phase of the remedial action j
program. The NRC staff considers this deferral to be acceptable and will review this aspect of remedial action upon DOE's submittal of a groundwater cleanup plan. As a result of the staff's concurrence, NRC is prepared to sign the signature pages for the Slick Rock RAP, following their submittal by DOE.
