PROPOSED IMPOSITION OF CIVIL PENALTIES - $75,000 This <is to inform the Comission that a Notice of Violation and Proposed
. Imposition of Civil: Penalties in the amount of Seventy-five Thousand Dollars 1($75,000) will be issued on'or about May 30, 1985 to Philadelphia Electric
- Company.. This action is based on violations involving two nuclear sites,
' Peach Bottom and Limerick. The specific violations are related to health physics and security and arise from a common concern relating to inadequate, y
management control of licensed activities performed by contractors atLboth sites.
It should be noted that the~1icensee has not been specifically informed of the enforcement action. The Regional Administrator has been authorized by the Director, Office of Inspection and Enforcement, to sign-this action. The schedule of issuance and notification is:
Mailing-of Notice May 30, 1985 Telephone Notification of Licensee May 30, 1985 A news release has been prepared and will be issued about the time the
-licensee receives the Notice. The' State of Pennsylvania will be notified.
The licensee has thirty days from the date of the Notice in which to respond.
Following NRC evaluation of the response, the civil penalty may be~ remitted, mitigated, or imposed by Order.
