Dr. Keith E. Asmussen General Atomics 3550 General Atomics Court San Diego, CA 92121-1194
Dear Dr. Asmussen:
A review of our active licenses found that General Atomics holds specific export license XCOM1063 which authorizes the export of various reactor equipment and components to the TRIGA Mark II research reactor in Austria.
j In a recent amendment to our export and import regulations in 10 CFR 110, NRC added Austria as a country to which any person or company may export nuclear reactor components under general license authority. That is to say, General Atomics no longer needs an NRC specific license to enable exports of reactor components to Austria.
As a result, the NRC is terminating export license XCOM1063 and requesting that all future exports of specially designed and prepared reactor components to Austria be made under the general license authority in 10 CFR 6110.26.
I have enclosed a copy of the July 8,1996 Federal Reaister notice which announced the most recent changes to our export regulations, including the revision of $110.26.
I have also enclosed an updated copy of 10 CFR 110 for your use.
2 If you have any questions, please call me, or Betty Wright, at (301) 415-2344.
Sincerely, C'Ind Sigred by Ronald D. Ha b Ronald D. Rauhver, Director u
