Enclosed for your information are reports which list all Nuclear Regulatory Commission export and import cases which were completed, received, or pending during the month of September 1996.
In summary, 44 cases were completed, four new license applications or amendment requests were received, and 24 cases were pending as of September 30.
We understand that most of the pending cases listed in the report are awaiting receipt by the Executive Branch of foreign government assurances as required by the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended by the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Act of 1978.
