SUBJECT:
NRC CONCURRENCE OF RESUMPTIGN OF LICENSED ACTIVITIES IN STATES WHERE NRC HAS JURISDICTION This is to confirm the telephone conversation between Mr. William Shamel, Northwest X-Ray Inc. , and Mr. C. L. Cain of my staff, on July 5,1985. This conversation concerned your plan to resume licensed activities in states where NRC has jurisdiction which you had previously suspended as confirmed by our letter, dated June 27, 1985. During the conversation you confirmed that your activities previously authorized in Montana would be complete on or about July 15,1985, and that you yourself would be the only radiographer assigned to this task.
On July 1, 1985, an inspection was conducted by members of my staff of your Idaho Falls, Idaho, facility to determine if we could be assured of the safe conduct of your licensed activities. The results of this inspection, and that of a temporary job site inspection conducted June 13, 1985, near Cutbank,.
Montana, will be forwarded under separate cover.
Regarding this matter, we have determined that there are no safety issues that would prevent the safe conduct of your activities in NRC states. Accordingly, we hereby inform you that your commitment to the temporary suspension of such ^
activities is no longer necessary and that your activities may be resumed in accordance with your stipulations outlined above.
