MJBell REBrowning Enclosed please find a copy of Appendices B & C from the Yakima Indian Nation (YIN) comments on the draft BWIP EA. These appendices describe a factor analysis of ground-water flow paths in the in the Central Columbia Plateau based on hydrochemistry data. The accuments are attached primarily for your information and consideration as you prepare a final draft of your statistical analysis of Hanford site hydrochemistry data.
We shall also be sending you additional comments on your report on or before May 17, 1985.
I would also like you to scan this YIN document to determine the extent of review which you feel is warranted. Such a review would summarize the work for the teams's information, examine the Ifmitations and validity of the approach, and discuss its implications in terms of hydrologic conceptualization of the Hanford site. Please discuss this with me by phone prior to initiating a detailed review.
The action taken by this letter is considered to be within the scope of the current contract NRC-02-82-044. No chances to cost or delivery of contracted services and products are authorized. Please notify me immediately if you believe that this letter would result in changes to cost or delivery of contracted products.
