Dear Mr. Strobhar:
This is in response to your letter dated April 9,1985, in which you requested, pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act (F0IA), any and all information on the NRC Construction Assessment Team's (CAT) analysis of the Braidwood Nuclear Power Plant (NRC Docket Nos. 50-456 and 50-457).
You stated that the CAT Inspection at Braidwood was completed in the first quarter of 1985.
We have determined that a copy of the 131 page CAT report designated as Inspection Reports 50-456/84-44 and 50-457/84-40, Accession No, 8502280420, PDR/A Dock /50-456 Q is already available for public inspection and copying at the NRC Public Document Room (PDR) 1717 H Street, NW, Washington, DC. There is no charge for inspecting records maintained at the PDR. We are enclosing a copy of a notice that provides charges and procedures for obtaining copies of records from the PDR.
In your telephone conversation with Mr. Frank W. Karas of my staff on April 17, 1985, you agreed that your purchasing a copy of the above CAT report from the PDR satisfies this F0IA request. Further, you agreed that in the event you need any other records after reading the CAT report, you will file a new F0IA request.
