I am pleasad to learn of your appointment as the State Liaison Officer to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission from the State of Texas.

The NRC looks to the Governor-appointed State Liaison Officer to provide a communication channel between the State and the NRC; to be the key person in the State to keep the Govemor informed on regulatory, radiological public health and safety or other matters of interest to the Governor; to keep other officials within the State informed on regulatory and
