A wipe and meter survey was recently completed in the HTGR Fuel Manu-facturing Production areas to determine external dose rates and the tactile alpha contamination level of floor areas.
Dose rate measurements were made using an Eberline RO-2 (33570).
If a general area dose rate exceeded 0.2 mR/hr, a "high" dose rate was de-termined. Dose rate r.easurements are listed in Attachment I.
Dose rate measurements were not made in the west or south vaults.
2 Wipe samples were collected on Whatman 41 filter paper of 1 ft areas.
The samples were submitted to the Healtg Physics Lab for analysis and the results were reported in dpm/100 cm.
Attachment II shows the average surface contamination in the various areas with the high sample result also listed.
