Dear Mr. Smith:
This is to confirm our plans to escort two representatives of the Ukrainian State Committee on -
Nuclear and Radiation Safety (USCNRS) on a visit to your site on March 1,1993, which were discussed with Mr. Doering of your staff on February 10, 1993.
'USCNRS is the Ukrainian equivalent of the U S Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).-The two representatives' will be in the United States (U.S.) as guests of the NRC during the approximate period of January 14, March 12,1993, and will be hosted by the NRC Region I_
Office for portions of time between February 21 - Marct' 3,1993. The purpose of their visit -
is to develop inspection procedures for'the USCNRS.
The names and titles of our Ukrainian guests are:
Victor F. Khromov, Deputy Chief Inspector of USCNRS General State inspectorate Andrei Y. Glinianov. Interpreter, International Relations Department, USCNRS -
o TI:c Ukrainian guests will be escorted by myself as an NRC representative from the Region I office.
Consistent with the intent of the program, the purposes of the group's visit are to allow it to gain a better knowledge and understanding of NRC activities at U.S. reactor facilities and to gain an appreciation for how the U.S. industry manages several key issues. Consequently, the group

is interested in observing and' discussing the NRC reactor inspection program with our resident a
staff. Further, they are interested in observing and discussing the NDE van inspection.
