.This refers to your telephone inquiry of June 17, 1985, and to a subsequent telephone conversation with Dr. J. Piccone of this office on June 18, 1985.
This inquiry concerned activities authorized under a general license to possess and use americium-241 in a device used to regulate the feed of fiber.
The NRC requirements as detailed in 10 CFR Part 31 " General Domestic-Licenses for Byproduct Material" were summarized and discussed.
For your convenience, a copy of these regulations is enclosed.
