NRC INSPECTION REPORT N0. 50-461/96008(DRS)

Dear Mr. Connell:
This refers to the inspections conducted by Mr. M. Holmberg of this office on
August 26 through 30, 1996, of activities authorized for Clinton Power
Station. The focus of this inspection was your inservice inspection efforts.
At the conclusion of the inspection, the findings were discussed with those
members of your staff identified in the enclosed report.
Areas examined during the inspections are identified in the report. Within
these areas, the inspections. consisted of selective examinations of
procedures, representative records and interviews with personnel.
The inspector considered the inclusion of small bore piping into your Flow-
Accelerated Corrosion (FAC) program and the use of automated ultrasonic
equipment to perform examinations for your Inservice Inspection program to
demonstrate commitment to a quality program.

No violations of NRC requirements were identified during the course of this
inspection.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of
this letter and the enclosures will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
