d. The workload of the therapists has been lightened by employing volunteers to relieve some of their non-essential duties such as escorting patients and caring for patient linen needs.
c. The radiation therapists are not answering phone calls while a patient is being treated so they can fully concentrate on the patient's treatment.
f. The video monitors have been elevated and angled above the tabletops for better observation of the patient while being treated.
g. As of December 14, 1992, the Theratron 80 irradiator is not being used for rotational therapy and is used for fixed beam only .
h. The radiation therapist's activities are being supervised on a weekly basis. All findings are entered into a log book.
3. Corrective Steps That Will Be Taken To Avoid Further Violation:

To further strengthen the quality of treatment and as a result ofincreased volume three new radiation therapist positions have been approved by administration. The additional positions will provide a staffing level of three (3) radiation therapists on each Cobalt machine.

4. Date Of Implementation:

All corrective steps highlighted in answer #2 have been implemented r.s of January 4, 1993. The newly created positions, three new radiation therapists, will be filled as soon as possible, recruitment has started.
