RECEIPT OF SIGNED PETITIONS FOR HEARING REGARDING THE PROPOSED (PART 72) DRY STORAGE CASK RULE AMENDMENT
[, As a followup to our telephone converstaion on January 15, I am
.orwarding with this note the copies I received of the signed t_ petitions which Kay Haffner referred to in the comments submitted for Palisades Watch in the ongoing Part 72 rulemaking reviewed by CRGR recently (see Comment #77, enclosed). By my first rough count, it appears that there are about 2130 signatures contained

in the 64 copies of the petition submitted in this package. You may note that the transmittal note is signed by John Farnsworth,

another individual who submitted comments on the subject rule (i.e., Comment #56). Mr. Farnsworth telephoned me when this material was being assembled and indicated that he was acting in behalf of Ms. Haffner in sending this material. The transmittal note accompanying the package also indicates that additional signatures may be submitted; but I have had no further communication from Mr. Farnsworth or Ms. Haffner to date in that regard.
At your suggestion, I contacted Bill Reamer, OGC to discuss-proper handling of this material. He suggested that I send the signed petition copies to you, and that this material should be docketed for consideration as a supplement to Comment #77. Sorry about the delay in getting this to you finally; I got caught up in preparations for another CRGR meeting on January 22 If there are any questions, please give me a call at 492-9855.
