Dear Mr. Chilk:
I am writing in regard to the Palisades Nuclear storage cask problem. I am the recent past President of Palisades Park Association, which includes approximately 190 homes, and which is located about one-half mile South of the Power Plant. We - you -
all of us - cannot afford to have spent fuel stored at this location on the dunes abutting Lake Michigan. The dunes have eroded back from the lake several hundred feet over the past 25 to 50 years. The dunes are an extremely unbalanced geography, and the potential devastation is immeasurable.
Please DO NOT allow storage of spent fuel in these concrete casks.
