Dear Mr. Keppler:
Pursuant to the provisions of 10 CFR 50.54(p), Iowa Electric has made a change to the Duane Arnold Energy Center Security Plan.
This change, SPC-9, has been reviewed in accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR 50.54(p) and it is our determination that the change does not decrease the safeguards effectiveness of the Security Plan.
This revision to the Security Plan is being incorporated by means of a " Pen and Ink" change. This revision will be incorporated into the typed text at a later date. Attachment 1 to this letter contains a description of the change and the list of affected pages. Attachment 2 is the update instructions for making the change to the DAEC Security Plan.
The attachments to this letter contain information of the type described in 10 CFR 73.21; therefore, it should be withheld from public disclosure.
