TROJAN NUCLEAR PLANT Cycle 8 Radial Peakina Factor Report Pursuant to Technical Specification 6.9.1.7, attached is a copy of the Cycle 8 Radial Peaking Factor Limit Report for the Trojan Nuclear Plant.

The peaking factor limits have not changed and no Technical Specification changes are required for Cycle 8 operation.

TROJAN UNIT 1 CYCLE 8 RADIAL PEAKING FAC10R LIMIT REPORT This Radial Peaking Factor Limit Report is provided in accordance with Paragraph 6.9.1.7 of the Trojan Nuclear Plant Technical Specif1-cations.

The F,y limits for RATED THERMAL POWER within specific core planes for Cycle 8 shall be:

1.

y' less than or equal to 1.89 for all core planes con-F taining bank 'O' control rods..and RTP

2. F y less than or equal to 1.66 for all unrodded core l

l Planes.

These F,y(z) limits were used to confirm that the heat flux hot chan-nel factor F g(z) will be limited to the Technical Specification values of:

F9 (z) = [ UP ) (K(z)] for P > 0.5 and.*

Fg (t) = [4.64) (K(z)] for P $ 0.5*

assuming the most limiting axial power distributions expected to result from the insertion and removal of control banks C and D during opera-l tion, including the accompanying variations in the axial menon and power distributions as described in the ' Power Distribution Control and Load Following Procedures,' WCAP-8385. F,y limits provide assurance that the initial conditions assumed in the LOCA analysis are met, along with the ECCS acceptance criteria of 10CFR50.46.
