In acconiance with 10 CFR 50.M, Limitations on the Use of Highly Enriched Uranium, the MIT Nuclear Reactor Laboratory submits hearwith the information required -
by subsection (c)(2)(ii) of that paragraph.
We have been notified by the U.S. Department of Energy that Federal funding for.
conversion to low enriched uranium will not be available ~during Fiscal Year 1993. A copy -
of Mr. Richarti E. Stephens' letter dated February 4,1993 is attached.
It is our understanding that this letter fulfills the requirements of 10 CFR 50.M until March 27,1994. We shall infomi you if funher information regarding the availability of funding should become available in the meantime.
